About Lautta
and our game tests.
Lautta is an independent project by Jesse Huusari, building a native macOS game library around game-specific compatibility work. Our aim is to bring more games to the Mac you already have.
Our current research includes selected Windows Steam games and the original GOG release of Blade Runner. These are individual tests, not a promise that every Windows game, store or Mac is supported. You bring your own copy; Lautta does not sell or provide game files.
What you can do today
Read our firsthand Mac game notes and join the release waitlist. The public Lautta installer is still being prepared. A game working on our development Mac does not mean it is already available through a public Lautta release.
How we test game compatibility
Each published note describes a specific game, source, version or build when recorded, Mac setup and test date. We keep original game files and existing saves untouched and use separate local test copies.
- Graphics: a person confirms the game renders during gameplay.
- Audio: a person confirms the game’s sound.
- Controls: a person checks input during play.
- Saving: a person saves progress or reaches a recorded checkpoint.
- Relaunch: the game is closed, started again through Lautta Play, and the saved progress is loaded.
Process startup and clean logs alone do not establish playability. We describe narrower checks as narrower checks, and keep untested video, frame pacing, longer sessions and other Macs explicit. Local test results and portable public-release validation are separate.
What the game labels mean
Tested with Lautta identifies a game with human-confirmed core gameplay checks in its recorded test setup. It is not a guarantee for every Mac or game update.
Try with Lautta identifies an experimental local route whose testing is incomplete. It does not mean a public installer is available. Other games can be in testing, need retesting, or have no supported route yet. A Steam search match alone never establishes Lautta support.
Sources and corrections
Game notes separate our observations from explanations and link to the tested game listing and relevant developer or engine documentation. We update the visible note and its modification date when the substance changes. An updated article does not imply a new game test.
